First you can take care as to where you decide to place the beds. Thin walls and loud neighbors will lead to situations you will have to deal with. You can visit other Sims and form lasting relationships, but not everyone always finds the ideal apartment. Apartment living offers several communal rituals like the BBQ, the pool, and the gym. Now that the building is populated, there are plenty of interactions for your Sims to partake in and enjoy. You select your Sim and then select an available apartment complex by choosing the option, "Check Out Apartment." Once you have decided on a place and move in, the building will automatically begin to fill with residents. This process is similar to moving in the regular game and expansions. So now it is time for you to strike out on your own, or with your family, in The Sims 2: Apartment Life. Your Sim can be sensitive to sound, leading to interactions with your neighbors, but we can get into that more below. When you talk about living on top of one another, noise and sound play a huge part of living together. I cannot honestly tell, but I actually think I hear some new Simlish words mixed in there as well. The music is just as bouncy and uplifting as before. New action animations like brushing your teeth and washing your face, dip kiss, and jumping rope add to human simulations of your Sims. New textures and assets add to the already huge library of materials you can use in the game. Your new apartment surroundings is just as appealing as the houses, but there are many new objects to add to your new home. The expansion adds new material, but obviously not a new look to the game. I am glad to see continued release of material, especially considering that they are already talking about The Sims 3. The Sims 2: Apartment Life is the latest edition to the family of Expansion and Stuff Packs available for your Sims. So it only stands to reason that anything that expands on my ability to do that is going to be a big hit with me. I love using The Sims in Machinima and comics. I will admit my interest in them has little to do with the game, but with what you can do using the tools. They're always eating together on the patio and hanging out at the firepit as well.If you know me by now, or if you don't, I am a huge fan of sandbox simulations. There is one part of the house that is accessible to both families, a game room/bar in the basement, so they can socialize if they want. He, being a Painter, still paints all the time. They don't really do their daily work Tasks, but they are high enough in their careers that I'm fine with that. Their Needs get a little low sometimes, but they seem to finally care for them.
Activities are eating, sleeping, cleaning, repairing, cooking, bathing, etc. I have them in a Club by themselves as well, which is gathering about all the time. They must be gathering up the courage to go in, haha. Sometimes the neighbors will get home from work and just stand outside for a couple hours. The next door couple's friends do come over autonomously, which is nice, and they let them in about half the time.

It is similar to Scumbumbo's old door lock mod that started causing some problems, altho it doesn't have age groups. There is a new door lock mod on MTS now that allows you to pick community Sims that they know, to let in without unlocking. Allow Employees seems to let the caterer, etc, in.
And when I have an Event at the house I have to stop and think if all the guests can get in. I have her and friends in one Club, him and friends in another, so that I have more club slots. I have to put new acquaintances in there if I think they're going to be coming over. I solved it pretty much by putting their friends in a Club with them and using the Allow Club Members door lock option. That was a huge pain, and they'd keep going in each other's houses then, too. It seems to do mainly with the fridges for some reason, maybe since the inventory of the two fridges is shared.Īnother problem I had was with locking and unlocking the doors when guests came over. But it happens about once a Sim day at least. I assume the game is capable of totally stopping this, as it isn't a problem that I can tell happens in San Myshuno. The biggest problem is that they will occasionally route fail trying to get to something they figure is closer, but is in the other townhouse. I did play them until I got them to the point that I figured they were naturally/realistically skilled and able to have lives, so to speak. The couple next door are pretty much left alone direction-wise.
